We are very selective about the condition of the items we
sell. We understand how important this is to our customers.
Please read the information below about specific formats. Do
not hesitate to
contact us if you have questions regarding the condition
or grading of any items.
Compact Discs
The vast majority of our compact discs are completely
unmarked. All other compact discs may have only a couple or
a few very light hairline marks (which do not affect play).
We do not sell cds that are seriously marked,
scratched, scuffed, etc..

We use an Azuradisc Model 1600 machine to clean and repair
our marked cds. This device uses a wet cleaning method to
remove nearly all marks, scratches and scuffs from the
discs. This process does not affect the audio
performance of the discs. If we cannot repair a disc with
this machine then we toss it.
We are a little more lenient with the condition of the cd
inserts (booklets & back cover inserts). Some inserts may
have hole punches, cut-out marks, small amounts of writing,
etc. on them. We will always note imperfections to the
inserts in the item descriptions. On the rare occasion
we will sell a cd with lightly water damaged or stained
inserts, but we do not make a regular practice of it.
We DO NOT sell bootleg cds or cdr copies. Our business is
based on selling original out of print. hard to find
and rare items.
There are times when we sell new indie cds that are pressed
by the artists themselves on cdrs. They are still official
releases, and this is always noted in the item descriptions.
Vinyl Records
We are picky about the vinyl records we stock, and we grade
very conservatively. Roger (who has over 20 years
professional experience is record retail) grades all of our
vinyl. Vinyl are graded by record first, then jacket or
sleeve.
You can find the majority of our vinyl records on our
eBay store. We also sell vinyl here on our
web site.
We can combine shipping on orders from our web site, eBay
store and
Amazon.com shop.

Our grading system:
Still Sealed - Brand new record with still sealed
original factory shrink wrap (NOT re-sealed).
Near Mint - Our highest grading possible. We do not list
anything as "mint" since every record (even band new ones)
usually has some imperfection from manufacturing or
handling. The record has no visible marks. The jacket or
sleeve has no ring wear, creasing or other noticeable
imperfections.
VG++ - Others use the code "EX" for this grading.
Record is in excellent or almost like new condition with
only a couple or a few very light hairline marks that
do not audibly affect playback. Jacket or sleeve has no or
extremely light ring wear with no tears or marks. This is
our standard grading. We try not to stock any vinyl
records with a grading less than VG++.
VG+ - Record has some visible hairline marks which
may be audible (but do not affect playback and enjoyment of
the record). Jacket/sleeve has some visible (but not bad)
ring wear, creasing, writing, etc.. We only sell VG+ records
when we feel that they are very collectible and still in
demand by our customers.
VG - Record has many visible marks which are audible
and may affect playback and enjoyment of the record.
Jacket/sleeve has serious ring wear , creasing, marks,
tears, etc.. We DO NOT sell VG condition records.
Poor - A "trashed" record that is unplayable.
Jacket/sleeve is completely wrecked. Records in this
condition are thrown away.
Please
contact Roger if you have questions about the grading of
any records we sell.
Cassettes
We only sell original factory pressed cassettes with
the original j-cards. We do not sell recorded over
(TDK, Maxell, etc.) cassettes. All tapes are visually and
play graded before we list them. The tape shells are in very
good to excellent condition. We do not sell tapes
with cracked cases or ones that are missing the pads behind
the tape surface.
Any imperfections of the j-cards (hole punches, cut-out
marks, writing, etc.) are noted in the item descriptions. |
